The 31-year-old also played the lead role in Bhatt's play "The Last Salute", based on the author's book Muntadhar Al-Zaidi with the same title.
According to reports, Bhatt also gave the green light for Pakistani actor-director Shaan to remake "Arth" and will be shot in Pakistan.
The original film made Shabana Azmi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Smita Patil in the direct roles.
